Toughen up benefits impacts families with children whom are primarily set these benefits. Thus decreasing doses that are designed for families with children? State makes austerity. It reduces expenditures of the state budget. In my thesis I examine the impact of the tightening of state social support system of assistance in material need. Therefore reduce the expenditures of the state budget, or just spilling over into another social security? The Impact of the Global Economic Crisis on the Economy of the Slovak Republic
Krajčiová, Ivana ; Plchová, Božena (advisor) ; Kopecký, Jan (referee)
This thesis analyzes the impact of the global economic crisis on the economy of the Slovak Republic. The work deals with the effects of the crisis upon the main macroeconomic indicators, such as: GDP, trade, inflation rate, labor market and public finance. In addition to impact analysis, the thesis provides information about the start of the financial crisis in the USA and its transformation into a global economic crisis and also closer describes the economy of Slovakia. The main reason for doing this research was to find out the reason why the crises influenced Slovakia so significantly. The aim of the work is to consider the impact of this crisis on the economy of the Slovak Republic in the period of 2008-2012, based on the analysis of the main macroeconomic indicators. These indicators were extracted from statistical data, acquired mainly from OECD and Slovak Statistical Office databases. Through analyzing the economic environment of Slovakia and database data the thesis reached the result, that because of the particularities of the economy of Slovakia (small, open, export - oriented) the impact of the crisis in 2009 was noticeable and the economic development was badly influenced. Another fact resulting from the research is that despite the global market recovery in 2010, the economy still did not get over the crisis by the end of 2012. Thus Slovakia will certainly need some form of support in order to return to the previous positive economic development. Such help could possibly come from the government, but only in condition that it would be effective and based on research.
